CENTRAL KITSAP SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY 5630

PERSONNEL, Volunteers

The District recognizes the valuable contribution made to the total school program through the volunteer assistance of parents and other citizens.  In working with volunteers, district staff shall clearly explain the volunteer’s responsibilities.  Volunteers shall be informed of the rules of student behavior and the means by which students are to be held accountable to those rules.  All prospective volunteers who may have regular, unsupervised access to students will complete a background questionnaire.  The superintendent shall be responsible for developing and implementing procedures for the utilization of volunteers.

Please come into the office and ask for a “Volunteer Form”.  After you complete the form we will make a copy of your drivers license or Military ID to send in with your completed form.   It takes about 1 week to receive the approval back from the Washington State Patrol screening.  You may not help in school buildings or on field trips until you have been cleared .  Thank you for your help in making this process work.  We appreciate our volunteers!
